Hi guys I am the mascot of the sanctuary and my name is Rosco. I have had a care free life on the beach of White Sands when my life suddenly changed. A car hit me and left me paralyzed. Team Happy Dogs took me to a vet and x rays being done showed a serious injury to my spine. I would never walk again is what the vet told. I got my first wheel chair and live in the shelter.
With beach visits almost daily ever since my live is great again. It’s great fun to walk and swim on wheels. Over the years I have gained back strength to my spine and muscles and miraculously, I have slowly recovered some movement and can even stand and walk few steps again.
My carers say: Rosco is a very special boy and loved by all of us. He was hit by a car in late 2016, which left him with a spinal injury that affects the use of his back legs. He is top dog in the kitchen area and can be a bit bossy towards the other dogs. Despite the loud bark at times Rosco is a sweetheart and loves to be near people and to get good belly rubs!
